Charles F. Gordon, August 4, 1928 – February 1, 2012
of Washington passed away at 8:15 on Wednesday.
He was born on August 4, 1928 in Washington to Joseph E. and Lillian Regina (Faust) Gordon.He was a 1944 Graduate of Washington Catholic High School. He was a US Army veteran and was a member of Washington American Legion and the Eagles Lodge. He owned and operated the Tuxedo Tavern for several year.He loved sports and spending time in the summer at Ellis Park.
He is survived by one daughter, Angie Lewandowski of Washington; one son and daughter in-law, Joe and Lynn Gordon of Indianapolis; three grandchildren, Angie Gordon, Katie Gordon and Jonas Lewandowski; and one brother John Gordon of Washington He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris A. (McEvilly) Gordon January 9, 1990, whom he had married on October 25, 1959. He was also preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Stella Dobyns
A mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 4, 2012, at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church with Father Gordon Mann as celebrant. Burial was in St. John Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM with a wake service at 4:30 PM on Friday at Ed Lee Mortuary.
